The Chicago Cello Society promotes the art of cello playing;
promotes an interest in and appreciation of the cello as a solo instrument;
develops a broader understanding of the art of the cello;
provides performance opportunities for cellists;
provides a common meeting ground for professional and amateur cellists;
and keeps abreast of current events in the cello world.
The Chicago Cello Society was founded in 1979 by cellist David Sanders.
